Since the beginning of mankind’s expansion of digital technology, a parallel world dubbed the Digital World was created. Since the world’s creation a single entity existed, a being that began to grow and create a consciousness until it ascended into what is now known by all as Yggdrasil the Server Tree, the god of the Digital World.
What nobody knewwas that there was another entity, one who could oppose Yggdrasil’s might. When both divine beings discussed how their world would be run, Yggdrasil wanted the world to grow, to be nurtured with the principles of love, knowledge, and the nobility that would later become the original crests. The Other opposed Yggdrasiland sought to use the Digital World as a beginning, a place to begin a reign of tyranny over all worlds.
The two argued until finally, their disagreements escalated into war. The deities clashed on the fields of the young world, each strike scarring it with massive chasms, jagged mountains, craters, and even beating against the very core of the world. The struggle seemed to continue without end until Yggdrasil’s spear, alight with the principles on which he would base the creation of his world, the original crests of Courage, Friendship, Love, Sincerity, Reliability, Knowledge, Light, and Hope struck a fatal blow to his darkened kin, releasing the power that would create the symbols that would become Destiny, Miracles, and Kindness.
The blow was fatal but the Dark One remained a genuine threat. Because he was incapable of permanently destroying him, Yggdrasil sealed his nemesis away within the newly created Dark Area, imprisoning his enemy in a void of space and time. Then, the prison was sealed by the Eleven Crests of Yggdrasil, the symbols of the Dark One, which would later become the Seven Sins; Pride, Lust, Gluttony, Sloth, Wrath, Envy, and Greed.
After that dreaded battle Yggdrasil began to create his new world, life with the ability to grow and change based upon their individual lives, along with the strength of their emotions, thus creating the first Digimon.
At first the Digital and the Human worlds where separated by a barrier of time, but through the meddling of several strong figures from both worlds, they became perfectly synchronized, allowing points in both to permanently connect with one another for Humans and Digimon to cross over from one to another.
Humans and Digimon are capable of sharing a unique bond with one another, one first discovered when children were brought to the Digital World. Because emotions are an integral part of a Digimon’s growth and evolution, human and Digimon partnerships began to form when the bridge between the worlds was created. This resulted in the need for the more experienced partnerships known as Tamers, to create a union to keep order.
One hundred years ago a group of humans attempted to exploit the bond between humans and Digimon to create the ultimate weapon. The weapon gained too much power and ran rampant, destroying everything in sight. The Royal Knights where the first to respond to the threat and even they were powerless to stop the beast known as Metamormon. As all seemed lost the Royal Knights were joined by the Demon Lords, knowing that they too were at risk of being destroyed if the best lived yet even with their aid the mutant was too much.
In a final act of defiance Lucemon in his Shadow Lord Form grasped the mutant in its talons and detonated his own body, the resulting explosion leaving only a handful of Knights and Demons remaining. From there Omegamon himself pursued and captured the humans responsible for Metamormon’s creation thus leading to an era of peace in the world.
Within the last three years war has once again broken out in the world. On one side, Ophanimon the last of the Great Angels and commander of the armies of Light and Love. Her battalions comprised of both Data and Vaccine Digimon of all types and their goal is to purify the world of all darkness.
On the opposing wide was Malo Myotismon, a gruesome, intelligent fighter and tactician, the inheritor of GranDracmon’s castle and armies. The Vampire Digimon’s Shadow Alliance, consisting of Virus-Type Digimon, struggled for years to stop Ophanimon’s armies. But then the Humans joined the conflict.
In the span of a single evening the stalemate erupted into a massacre as most humans, driven by just the outwardly appearance of the armies assembled, joined Ophanimon’s forces. Together with no provocation they assaulted the Virus-types on File Island. That day was recorded as the single bloodiest day in the Digital World, the Massacre of File Island. resulting in heavy casualties, human and Digimon alike.
That battle revealed the unbelievable truth that Malo Myotismon was not as evil as many suspected and was wronged for having the same appearance of the Malo Myotismon who attempted to drown both worlds in eternal darkness.
Since that day an uneasy truce has been made, resulting in the creation of a tournament held in neutral territory. Both sides send their strongest Tamers and their partners to compete the winner of the competition having a wish granted by both Ophanimon and Malo Myotismon.
